I have had bad pain in my side and shoulder since I was 16. I had cat scans done on my shoulder and they found some Bursitis, and I thought that was it for years. I dealt with the pain for a long time, but finally chose to take medication. I did not want to do that my entire life and become addicted to this pain medication, so I started to look into options. I was close to giving up, when someone suggested chiropractic services I started making some calls. I called multiple places, but I was looking at weeks before I could even be seen. Then, at last I called Downtown Chiropractic & Acupuncture. I was speaking with a man and telling him about my situation. He talked to me for quite a while before I discovered that I was talking to the Doctor directly. He set me up with an appointment within the hour. When I walked in, I knew this was no average doctors office with white washed walls and staged furniture. It is more like a small town doctors office that you see in a movie. I was greeted by the doctor himself, and he gave me some paperwork to fill out. I was in the process when I realized I didn't have my insurance card. He was patient while I got my insurance to send the info to him. When I got back to the room he talked to me for a long time about my pain, asking all the what's, when's, and where's. He quickly determined that I had multiple ribs out of place. He explained what he would like to do to help me with my pain and started with a TENS treatment to relax the muscle. TENS= AMAZING!!! He spoke with me for a while and we quickly discovered that we had a lot in common. He was familiar with my primary care provider and we talked about the small town I came from. I was completely relaxed and then I got my adjustment, I could immediately feel the difference. I could even see that my shoulder had lowered on the right side and matched the left. He requested that I come back the next week and we would go from there. I went back into my next appointment having gained back some of the pain, and we had a rerun of the last session. As I was waiting the other doctor had came in to talk to me, he shared that he was my doctors father and he was a doctor as well. He wanted to meet me because he heard where I was from. I had so much fun visiting with him, as he shared history and fun stories with me. It hardly felt like I was in a doctor's office, but more like a home of distant relatives. I would 100% recommend them to everyone, as they are great doctors and even better people!
